Connect a platform, read your first report and make your first fix. Answers are short, and each one says what we can and cannot see.
One guide for each platform that is open. Each says what we can see, what we cannot, and how to take the key back.
What we ask for, and how to take it back.
A key you create for us in your platform. The connection guide for each platform lists exactly which permissions to give it and which requests we make with it.
A few minutes with the guide. Your first report is ready within about 24 hours, and we email you when it is if you ask us to.
We show which check failed and which permission to add, so start with that message. A timeout says nothing about permission, so try again in a minute. If the key is right and still refused, create a fresh one with the steps in the guide and paste that.
Open Connections in your workspace and choose Disconnect. We destroy our copy of your key at once and stop any scan in progress. The key stays live at the platform until you delete it there, so delete it too. To remove everything, an owner can delete the organisation in organisation settings, which removes its data and uploaded files.
The numbers, the labels and what they rest on.
Waste found is what a change would save in total. Off your next bill is the part that would actually lower your invoice. They differ when something sits inside a commitment or a prepaid allowance. Each one shows which rate it rests on.
A figure priced at published list rates, because we do not have your contract or your billed rates. Your own rate may differ. Upload your contract and we use the rates you actually pay.
Safe to change: nothing we can see depends on it. Check first: something might depend on it, so look before you change it. Don't touch: something important depends on it. Protected: left alone on purpose, and listed so you know we saw it.
Some platforms let you leave a permission off a key. The scan still runs without it, and the report names what it left out. Add the permission to the key and run a new scan.
What you do, and how we check it worked.
Never. We have no write access to your account. You get the steps, and on Assured a Terraform or config file, and you apply it yourself.
Every finding, its fix steps and how to undo it are free. Terraform and config files, each with a rollback, and email alerts come with Assured.
After you mark a fix as done, we check a later bill, on platforms that show billed cost. Confirmed means the bill shows the saving. Waiting means that month has not been billed yet. Didn't land means the line did not fall as expected, and we say why. A month that is not final yet is marked as an estimate.
Open the finding. It says why: the line fell by less than expected, did not fall, the resource is still in your account, or the line now bills in another currency. Other changes in the same month can hide or add to a saving.
Four terms, in plain English.
The rate a figure rests on: your contract rate, your billed rate, or a list price estimate. We always show which.
Something new that starts costing money after your first scan, such as a new finding or a line on your bill that jumps. We check every week, and on Assured we email you that week.
The steps, or the file, that put a change back as it was. Every fix says how to undo it.
Our check of a later bill to see whether a saving happened. It needs a platform that shows billed cost.
